Draught 5.5% abv 500ml Bottle 6.5% abv The Bishop's Tipple has been a legend amongst ale drinkers ever since it was originally brewed to commemorate George Reindorp's appointment as Bishop of Salisbury. . "This blessed beer at 5.5% ABC will be my undoing....It's so damnably refreshing, a temptress with it's pale, golden hue and soft after palate from those tantalising Saaz and Styrian Goldings hops giving the beer that divine drinkability. I crave for the indulgence to once again let that clean, golden liquid pass my lips... though I fear I will forsake this beguiling tipple of mine all too soon." The Bishop's Tipple is brewed from 94% low colour malt from Optic barley and 6% cane sugar. Bitterness units of 38-42 are obtained from substantial quantities of Saaz and Styrian Goldings hops. One third of these are reserved for the hopback plates for enhanced flavour and aroma. Colour rating is 16.

Cask@GBBF2007. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is very nectary and woody. Flavour is very fruity, nectary, hoppy, grassy and really dry in finish. 7 8 6 8 8

Bottled (from bierzwerg.de, 5.5 % ABV according to label). Hazy ambery golden olour with mediumsized off-white head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is floral hops as well as some grass along with mild notes of spies. Flavour is floral and fruity hops along with some caramel malts and some slight wooden notes. Longlasting bittery finish. 6 6 6 7 7
