"Dedication" is an homage to the Trappist brewing monks of Belgium and their distinctive and wonderful beers. Closest in style to a "dubbel" (but bigger!), our abbey style ale is ruby red, unfiltered, and hugely flavorful. The aroma suggests plum, pear, raisin, figs, with a subtle refined spiciness (perhaps black pepper, cinnamon, cardamom, a trace of nutmeg).. all this comes from the unique Trappist yeast used in fermentation. The taste is a continuation of the experience, with rich malty character and alcohol heat vying for attention amidst more fruit and spice complexity. This amazing beer is truly meant to be savored. Brewed with hops from Brewmaster Scott's own hop garden! Projected 9% alcohol by volume. Why the Name? A dedication ceremony is customary for a new church, abbey, park... or brewery! Like the christening of a boat, it's meant to honor the new enterprise and wish it a long and successful voyage. Also, in its other context "dedication" is meant to honor the hard work and commitment of all the great people who helped us get started... thank you thank you thank you!

Not a good looking beer, a murky redness with deep caramel colors. Rich dark fruit aroma with some sour grapes. Flavor is mostly prunes and sour grapes, tangy is a good word. Good full mouthfeel.

On tap and pretty decent. Dark muddy reddish colour. On the nose, some dark fruit, peanut butter and brownies. Taste is fruity, semi sweet but clean and rich with more dark fruits finishing it up.

On tap at the brewery, pours a murky amber brown with a thin head and little lace. Sweet fruit and spice aroma. Brown sugar sweetness with a light lemony tang and a faint bitterness. Satisfying mouthfeel and finish.
