Tasted at the May Northern California Beer Tasting. This old ale pours a deep brown color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is brown sugar, caramel, molasses and some tobacco. A medium bodied old ale. The malts are caramel, dark fruits and sweet. The hops are earthy. Nice balance. Very deceptive at 8%. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Old Headbanger. Fantastic name for a fantastic beer. Enjoyed this one while at the latest NorCal tasting and Steve dropped this one on us. A fantastic nose of tobacco, leather and caramel. The beer is the color of muddy water, a solid brown color. Flavors that jumped out at me were toffee, toasted bread, raisins with a healthy dose of sweetness which binded the whole beer together. I'd like to try this one again in about 6 months.
