Engelberg Pilsener is made in a historic German style in which the beer is unfiltered and uses more hops (2.25 pounds per barrel) than the typical modern example. We use a simple recipe and excellent Munich lager yeast to create a light and easy drinking beer that still yields a brew with tremendous aroma and flavor. It’s only slightly bitter but very dry with a hop character that lasts through the entire palate. The Engelberg is produced one batch at a time in the brewery’s 20 bbl conical fermenter and packaged only for draft.

    Solid pils. Earth and grass. Cereal like. Perhaps a little hoppier than usual, which is never a bad idea. Crisp and clean without being boring. Nicely done...

    This was the first beer I tried today at the Upright brewery. Clear straw color with perfect creamy head and great lacing. Very mild hop aroma. Silky smooth, light-medium body with some hop bitterness around the edges. Very clean flavor and easy to drink. Very good start to a day of beer!
