330 ml capped bottle. Poured in a typical Scottish Ale glass a clear and golden-orange coloured S A with half a finger light beige foamy head that had a short retention and tons of micro bubbles. Soft carbonation. No lacing. The aroma is toasted malt, peat, marked woody tones, oak, a powerful alcoholic touch, whisky and ashes. The flavour is solid sweety caramel malts, peat, dried fruits, walnuts and almonds, massive woody, oak. The mouthfeel is light crispy, round and a bit sticky. The texture is oily. This medium bodied Scottish Ale has a sweety-woody-alcoholic ( whisky ) finish. A nice designed label is not enough to make from a quite anonymous brew, even with a pronounced whisky side, a GOOD Ale !

Bright rich copper body with zero cap not a single bubble is floating on top this looks ungood. Woody alcohol aroma with moderate hop. The smell is awesome and rich on big deep inhales. Apple flavour on first sip followed by alcohol burning the throat with a bready after taste. Flavour seems empty mostly contains vanilla oak, and whisky. When I hold the brew in my mouth a nice hop bite starts to show up. Flavour is ok I guess just kind of watered down. I think I might enjoy this beer maybe?

Seems like the brewers description is more about how nice the bottle is, not how great the beer is. Oh, and the exported bottle has a plastic shrunk neck and thankfully is lacking the LEAD seal. Lead? Are you kidding me?
Poured out a deep gold to amber brew with a small fizzy white head that fades instantly. The aroma doesn't set itself apart from the other whiskey beers I've had but still isn't that bad: sweet and buttery, slight fruit and some oak (a decent amount). Light on taste with a weak bitterness or dryness on the finish. Watered down whiskey flavour and oak which are decent enough but this leaves an almost a "pop" impression. Some malts noticed near the finish and maybe slight alcohol when warmer. Finishes with lingering wood and buttery taste and a reminder that I should stop buying these overpriced bottles of disappointment. It's better cooler as the aftertaste becomes sourish. -

Bottled. Golden colour, not much head. Aroma is whisky barrells, oaky and wooden notes as well as quite sweet. Flavour is sweet woodenness, alcohol and quite boring.

500 ml bottle, as "Tullibardine 1488 Majestic Whisky Ale", bought in Edinburgh. ABV is 7.0%. Brewed and bottled by Traditional Scottish Ales Ltd. for the Tullibardine Distillery, using the distillery’s spring water and malted barley. Clear and deep golden colour, pours very fizzy, when the fizziness subsides just a small white head remains. Strange aroma, sweetish / sugary and oaky, with peaty and fruity notes. The flavour is very sweet and alcoholic. There are notes of whisky casks and peat as expected, but I also expected something far drier and maybe more "scotch & club soda"-like, not this overwhelming sweetness. Are there any hops in this beer at all? Still, when you get used to the sweetness, the beer is drinkable - but remains a disappointment.
