Triple Voodoo Inception is based on a Belgian Tripel recipe but is distinctly different from other Trappist ales. Inception is bright and clear with a sharp alcohol note in the beginning and an added twist of black currant in the center of the flavor profile. The beer finishes clean and has a solid malty backbone. This unique flavor profile was achieved using a special hop varietal. The high hop load also makes it reminiscent of an IPA and gives it that unique California characteristics.

don't know about the currant they speak of, but it does kinda sorta taste like a fruity, hoppier than usual triple. a little bit muddled, though i do appreciate the sweet tropical and slightly bitter flavor combinations.

Sampled 5/26/2012. This Belgian Ale pours a medium yellow orange gold color from a 22oz bottle. Medium to large sized white foamy head, with decent lacing and good retention. The aroma is fruity and sweet, apricot, orange and peach, a touch tropical. A medium bodied Belgian Ale. The malts are fruity and sweet, tropical and apricot. The hops are herbal. Decent carbonation. A touch on the sweet side. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
