We brewed this ale with around 40% rye as a base malt and let our sour yeast and bacteria eat away at it in oak barrels for over a year creating a sour ale with a complex character of rye spice, oak and a subtle funk.

750 ml bottle, kindly shared by our beerpal Ole Anders. ABV is 7.8%. Hazy deep golden colour, moderate white head. Lovely funky brett aroma, also notes of sour fruits. Tasty sour flavour, funky notes and sour fruits galore.

Tasted this on a women beer enthusiasts' night out a few months ago-- just now catching up on recording some older reviews. Wish I'd known about the kumquat version! Cloudy orange with a ring, sour & fruity aroma. Honestly, I could sit around just sniffing this all day. Tart lemon and grain flavor, spice & yeast, tiny bubbles: it's sparkly and delicious!

Hazy honey brown with a limited cap floating on top. WOW drool inducing sour punch to the face stink. Apple, white wine, mild bile............. aroma is potent and for the style Its good. My face just got sucked in side out taking my first sip. Big white wine, lychee, lemon juice, wood, and more stuff that taste like stuff. So dry and crisp, and clean. Killer beer for the style. Keep hitting honey but seems wrong. Sour SOUR!!!!!!!!!!!

Orange/Brown pour with strong, effervescent carbonation. Funky/sour aromas dominated by lemon and citrus. Highly acidic and crisp but good drinkability for such a tart beer. Flavors of sweet tarts and wood with a black pepper finish. This is a very nice sour.

This wish list item was as good or better than hoped. Near perfect balance of spice, fruit, and ample funk and tartness. Such a delicious and complex brew...there's even hints of leather and tobacco.

Sampled on 1/28/12. This sour/wild ale pours a medium orange gold color from a 750ml bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with decent lacing. The aroma is tart, funky, fruity and sour. A medium to full bodied sour/wild ale. The malts are fruity and sweet with some cherry. The hops are herbal and spicy. Nice carbonation. Tart, funky, and sour with some cherry sweetness at the finish. Hint of vanilla as well. Very smooth tasting sour. Lots of tartness and a touch of rye spiciness. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is sour and tart.

another beer from the tasting that to not review it, would be criminal! .. . Pours a murky wood tan .. medium foam head, sticky lacing .. . crazy flavours with this one: wood, rust, carrot peeler, rye, grain, dirty hay, and woody funk .. . lots going one but to much rye for me .. . I'm my own Crumb..
