St. Croix Maple Ale is truly a one-of-a-kind beer that achieves the characteristics of both an ale and a lager, with a hint of maple in a slightly hoppy finish. It's brewed in a classic American West style from the 1800s that employs cold-fermenting lager yeast at warmer ale-fermenting temperatures. After fermentation, the beer is aged cold for several weeks. This hybrid process gives the beer the fruity, estery flavors of an ale and the smoothness of a lager.

An average looking and smelling beer. I did like how the maple worked with the maltyness, I didn't think it was horrible. Every beer has it's place and this is certainly a step up from some I've tried.

First person in 6 years to try it- I love when that happens. Nonetheless. clear amber, nose is wierd. BRead of some sort, berry fruit and wood. Taste is sweet, not what i expected. Taste really lingers after the beer has been gone a bit, actually. Not digging it.

This used to be a great beer. It has changed the recipe and is horrible! The last three times sampled it has tasted old, oxidized, lacked character. The only thing it had going for it was a nice appearance. Big deal. Don't waste your time on this one.
