We infused a robust bourbon flavor into our newest limited release by aging it five weeks in white oak bourbon barrels. The balance of six different malts and two varieties of hops compliments the hearty bourbon essence in this decadent Scotch ale.

Strong aroma has a fruity and vaguely fishy overtone, with notes of malt and yeast. Pours a clear dark sepia with a nice wheat head. Flavor has firm fruity - pear with a little banana and apple - malty and cloves notes, and, hello, quite an alcohol bite. Well it is 10% ABV. Texture has decent fizz and thickness - and a serious alcohol edge. Overall, edgy and lively, decent flavor.

Used to love me some Sprecher, many of the old stand by's from their portfolio are wonderful, however I have not been fond of their more experimental offerings. This one was solid, but missed the mark. A detracting butter bomb in the aroma and flavor wasn't too detracting, however it masked the bourbon.
