The aroma is dark fruit and the beer looks great, a vibrent red, almost like juice, unfortunately the flavor is too much like juice as well and the caramel sweetness dominates the mouthfeel and the flavor.

Initially a great looking, sweet smelling, thick bodied strong like you want. By the end of the glass it was way too thick, way too sweet and way too much. Best enjoyed in small volumes with lots of friends like pfoxyjohn who is more than willing to share.

this one hits the spot. still thick and chewy like #2 but is a little more approachable. aroma of furit, oak, vanilla, coconut, slight chocolate...lots going on. warming, not hot. pretty sweet flavor with a similar palate to the aroma.

I didn't get to try Series 2 so I have to make the most of this one. The pour is dark red with brownish hints. The aroma is dark fruits and molasses. The flavour is sweet, nutty malt, molasses and some alcohol.

Strong aroma has an appealing oaken overtone as well as malty and fruity tones, the latter being largely apple and a little like a barleywine. It pours a beautiful clear mahogany with a thin, fine-bubbled pale tan head that doesn't hang around very long. Rich, mouth-filling, rather sweet flavor is mainly fruity with oaken and malty tones and hints of caramel and honey. Texture is thick and smooth like syrup, with a subtle tingle. Good, if a bit on the sweet side for my tastes.

A deep, dark amber colored beer. A medium, foamy textured head rising briefly above. Settles fairly quickly into a thick, soapy ringlet atop the body and splotches of film trying to climb up the sides of the glass. In the nose and in the tasting, thick whiskey. Very similar in the oak presence. There’s vanilla and sweet caramel there as well. Nice sipping brew. The alcohol is is dominate on the palate with a medium, well carbonated body.
