Fränken Bierausflug, Day#2, Brewery#8, Beer#16. Literally translated as 'sip-woodpecker' schluck-specht refers to a 'heavy-drinker' or 'boozer'. This bottled version of a 'Premium Pils' poured (into a glass I had to request) clear golden in color with a thin white head that faded fast leaving no lacing. Nose of spicy, fruity hops. Soft, smooth mouthfeel and medium-bodied; lightly carbonated. Flavors of light fruit - apple cider - and mild hops.
