This amber ale has a distinct hop flavour, medium body and a white lacy head. The combination of Galaxy and Cascade hops give this beer a fruity-citrus, slightly grapefruit aroma with a balanced body from a blend of Canadian 2 row pale and crystal malts. The lower alcohol and crisp finish make this a very drinkable, “sessionable” addition to the Sleeman family.

The beer pours a translucent amber colour with a generous foamy pinkish head which disappears in seconds. The aroma is caramel, grass, and weak floral hops. Not a citrusy note to be noted. The mouthfeel is weak to medium bodied with below average carbonation. Flavour is mild notes of caramel and grass with a weak bitter finish. As the beer is only 14 days from canning, I can’t chalk up the lack of aroma and body to age, only to it being a not so great beer. -

Sub-average, watery swill that comes across as no better than, or worse really, than any other macro. It is tasty, to a degree, but still Sleeman can, and has done better.

Pours a huge frothy off-white head and has a clear golden amber appearance. Lively carbonation. Aromas of toasted malts, earthy hops. Flavours are a mix of earthy hops and light roasted malts and hints of caramel. Good retention. A fairly simple session ale, pretty good for Sleeman.

Pours a clean light amber colour with a warm cap and creamy lacing. Mildly sweet malt aromas with caramel notes and light fruity grain. Same for taste with a little rusty-hoppy finish. Refreshing mineral water feel with the mild cereal and hops blend lingering. Not a session IPA (which seems to be the going thing this year), but a decent session ale.
