Foam is a German-style Pilsner, light bodied and easy drinking, yet loaded with flavor. Brewed with a mix of European and American malts, balanced by a spicy, and herbal hop kick. Brewed specifically for Phish: Festival 8, Foam is a crisp and refreshing traditional pale gold lager beer. In the words of Phish—“I’m looking through, And it all would be, So crystal clear, If it wasn’t for the foam.” Great music, great beer, and good times.

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 8 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7

A darker looking pilsner that almost looked more of an amber color. Nice lacing on the side of the cup, and the flavor reminded me of a less hoppy and cripser Sierra Nevada Pale Ale. Overall it was a little above average, but not really a true pilsner, IMO.

Comes out of the tap a somewhat hazy solar yellow with a decent ivory head. Aroma is not strong, but invites a taste with its malty and subtly fruity tones. Flavor is largely malty with a subtle undertone of pear, crisp and refreshing if not complex. Mouthfeel has OK texture and fizz, seems about average for a pils. Fair to middlin’ and leaning towards middlin’. Pils fans should like it.

Sampled at the mothership on 9/16/2014. This Pilsner pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Small to medium sized white foamy head, with decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is cereal and sweet, with a touch of grain and grass. A medium to light bodied pilsner. The malts are cereal and sweet. The hops are earthy and slightly spicy. Nice balance. Good carbonation. A very nice and easy drinkable pilsner. Great summer beer. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.
