Pours mahogany with deep amber hues and tan head. The mild aroma is a bit fruity with prune, plum and cherry like esters to go along with a mixture of roasted and chocolate malts. The taste comes up short of being rich in flavor and mouth feel as this style can at times deliver. It is pretty nice though. I get some dark roast and chocolate moving toward a modest pulse of caramel, prunes, plums and raisins. Into the finish highly roasted malts and chocolate malts bring this to closure with just a sense of caramel in tow.
