A truly drinkable German dark lager. Loads of malt complexity - fresh baked rye bread, baker's chocolate, and a hint of coffee, but still light and crisp. Named for the 700 year old hiking trail in Germany

Aroma: 7 | Appearance: 8 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 7
Pours clear cola brown with a thick if not long-lasting tan head. Aroma furnishes roast malt, pumpernickel and dark fruit notes. Flavor gives roast malt, caramel, fig, plum and pumpernickel tones. Texture offers decent body and perky fizz. Hike to the bar for a crater.
