Unlike conventional ales and lagers, which are fermented by carefully cultivated strains of brewer’s yeasts, our award winning lambic beer is instead produced by exposing it to the wild yeasts and bacterias that are native to the Senne Valley, of Brussels, Belgium. It is this unusual process involving over a year of fermentation which gives this beer its distinctive flavor: DRY, VINOUS, and CIDERY, with a crisp sour aftertaste.

Pours hazy apricot with a thin eggshell head. Sour aroma is all fruit, all the time. Boldly sour flavor will make your face do aerobics! Pomme and citrus fruit, hint of sweetish malt. Texture is quite fizzy and rather firm. Go wild!

Light hazy golden pour with a white cap, good carbonation, and some lacing. Sour and tart aroma and flavor, lemons, light funk, a bit of floral, honeysuckle, like a lemon Sweet-Tart on the end. Very nice Lambic.

Pours a hazy light golden hue with a light, light small head that left some gentle clouding and a nice halo. The aroma was a nice vinous notes along with some light oak and barrels. Quite subtle and inviting. The taste starts with some awesome very sour lemons and oaky barrels. Super fruity and acidic. Not quite as tart as many of the gueuzes but this is an unblended lambic so a bit of a toned down tart can be expected. The mouthfeel is very, very nice sharper carbonation here really works with that initial sour kick and is light to medium bodied.

An unblended Lambic from just outside of Cincinnati........yes that is a correct statement, and Rivertown has done a wonderful job with this creation. Huge lemon nose that leads to a slight acidity and funky tartness. Light to medium bodied, and semi-dry with a faint residual sweetness to keep the palate balanced. Light yellow body with the classic cloudiness, rolling white head and strands of lacing. The flavor could benefit from some more development, but the aroma is a thing of beauty. To be honest I'm astonished at how well this Lambic truly is.

This is a golden color with a white head. The aroma contains some vinegar, lemons, some barnyard thing. The is somewhat sour with lemons and vinegar. Call this one Lambic Lite! Overall this was pretty good and it might be the best thing to come out of Cincinnati since WKRP.
