Sampled from bottle. Pours mahogany with a thin tan head. Good legs. Aroma is subtle with notes of dark fruit, vanilla. Slightly sweet with dried stone fruit, some lactic-like sourness, cocoa, and toasted/caramel malt. Full-bodied and smooth. A nice Winter treat.

Pours dark brown with red when held to light. Aroma is vinous with ripe fruit, strong alcohol and vanilla notes. Chewy malt flavor boasting toffee (little coffee) balanced by tart raisin. Finishes sour and warm. This is definitely a beer to enjoy at cellar temperature. Complexity is masked by serving chilled. Full bodied and barely carbonated. Fun winter beer.
