An American Home Run! Named for the 1939 Portsmouth, Ohio, minor league baseball team, Red Bird Ale is a classic steam ale brewed in tribute to the steam ales enjoyed along the Ohio river in the early 1800’s. Caramel malts lend the gorgeous red color and full flavor perfectly balanced with domestic Willamette, Perle & Liberty hops.

pours a lively red color like ship rock sandstone with nice lacing, head is not very lasting. The aroma is sweet malts, grains, and fruit. The taste of this beer is very good. The crisp feel is complemented by the slighty sweet maltiness with just enough hoppiness to create good balance. The smoothness is apparent in the feel which might be a bit thin. Very good drinkability from this smoothy. The mouthfeel is a bit thinner then medium bodied but still smooth and warming.
