St. Benedict of Nursia lived in the late 5th to early 6th centuries. Legend has it while living in solitude, he was befriended by a raven that later saved his life. He is most remembered for writing the Rule of St. Benedict that, among other virtues, teaches humility. Inspired by this Rule we humbly offer St. Benedict's Winter Ale, a hand-crafted ale using generous amounts of dark roasted malts and the finest noble hops for a robust warming flavor.

Pours black with a foamy, tan head. Nose is roasted malts with coffee and vanilla notes. Taste is balanced. Lightly bitter. Medium body, lively carbonation. Decent brew.

This poured a copper color with a white head. The aroma is nutmeg, caramel, and cherries. Flavor is malty with a strong caramel and nutmeg presence. The finish is sweet with some spices present. Palate is a bit thin. Overall its pretty good.

This beer disappoint me very much it had a sour smell and taste. It poured a dark reddish color with a thin head. Aftertaste was a bit on the bitter side like a IPA.

Thanks to BeerHunter for this one. Pours a clear brownish-red with a medium white head. Aroma is yeasty with a bit of a burnt sugar smell. The taste is similar to the smell. Not a bad brew.

This beer has a sour smell and taste. Other than that, it just tastes like a bock beer to me. Nice appearance, though. Aftertaste is of bitter artificial sweetner (saccharin). Blah humbug! ++++++++++++ Re-review. Still pours thin and appears as others have mentioned. Mouthfeel is thicker than I thought it would be after seeing the thin pour. Taste is a little better than I remember too. Sweet with some hops and a brown sugar flavor. Bitter finish. I think this would be good with Christmas breakfast. For the cost, not bad at all. Glad that I tried it again.

This was nice. Poured a nice dark red color with a beige head with poor retention. It had a mild and sweet aroma with a nice malty flavor with fruity notes from the yeast.

Sampled from bottle: This beer pours a clear dark reddish colour with a very small thin amber head. The beer carries a very pleasent aroma. Dates, honey, carmel and apricots. Has flavors of grapes, carmel, toffee and honey. Medium bodied, doesn't represent a dubbel as much as it could. But still tastey.
