Pipeworks Grand Guignol Act 1

Poured into a 13 ounce tulip glass. An aggressive pour yields an opaque, dark brown/black color with a foamy, 2 finger head, that quickly dissipates. Aromas of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt and cherries (odd, but interesting). Tastes as it smells, all the flavors are blended superbly. If anything, the cherry juice flavor seems to linger longer than the rest. It is amply carbonated and leaves a silky coating in my mouth. An interesting take on an Imperial Stout. Alcohol is well hidden, but sneaks up on you quickly. Pipeworks has stepped up their game and I look forward to visiting my local liquor store to check out what new beers they are releasing, also picked up a 4 pack of pints of Lizard King, their APA brewed with Mosaic Hops. A Midwest brewery worth watching and tasting!
