Here's a little something to stoke your boiler. This Barley Wine is full of rich malt flavours and deep caramel aromas. Mildly carbonated, Trainwreck should be served at cellar temperature (BC), Careful not to derail your caboose.

Dull ruby brown with a thick (for a B-wine)skiff floating on top. Aroma isn’t not pleasant (DOUBLE NEGATIVES RULE!!!!) Seems dull!!! Some hazel nut, some sweetness but its limited, malts are muted. WOW this aroma is not sucking me in to want this beer. Taste is malty but thin. Hints of a great beer but all hidden in a dull fog of nothingness. Some spice, hidden plum, dull hop bite. Zero trace of the 10% this beer could get me in trouble. What a truly underwhelming beer with not one bad thing about it.

2011 edition, also in a bomber, from ichorm. Nice label! Wet cedar and campfire on the nose. Spruce tips, sap, more bitter sap, bittersweet smells. Dark brown, good retention, brown sugar on the nose now, bitter orange oversteeped tea. Some fudge, malted wheat, liquorice, catfood sometimes.... ABV doesnt seem too dominant this year. Reasonable, one of the better BC barley wines.

2010 edition in a bomber. Poured a body of dark copper under a tan head. ABC is obvious to the nose, along with some malt. ABV also stars in the flavour, likewise the malts. Acceptable mouthfeel and finish. Not as good as say, Old Cellar Dweller, but quite drinkable.
