I think this beer is an attempt to produce a relatively less expensive Canadian knock-off of Newcastle Brown Ale. Canterbury manages to pull it off in the appearance category, however it fails to deliver a taste beyond macro swill. I appreciate the price and that it is generally better than the majority of Canadian macros.

I agree with donkydonkdonk (both best and worst avatar), a knock off of newcastle. I had it on tap at an incredible pub in Smithers BC on the way back to Kamloops from Terrace. Very much enjoyed with the wicked pesto chicken ciabbata that I ate. The beer was reddish, malty, lightly carbonated, little to no character beyond watery but it went well with any food you paired it with. Surprisingly my first beer from Pacific Western. Good price.
