The beer pours a dark black colour with a creamy brown head that lasts a while. The aroma is dominated by roasted malt, coffee, and maple. Closer analysis reveals notes of grass, vanilla, and dark chocolate as well. The mouthfeel is medium to full bodied, chalky, and with average carbonation. The flavour is similar to the aroma, roasted malt sweetened my maple, with a mildly bitter hop finish. -

Tall can from LCBO. Pours fairly big frothy and bubbly brownish head and has a pitch black appearance. Thick dirty lacing remains. Lively carbonation. Aromas of coffee, maple sap, a bit woodsy. Flavours are sweet, chocolatey, cocoa, some brown sugary notes, molasses. The maple syrup is noticeable but too many other flavours for it to make a bigger impact. Full bodied mouthfeel, thick and slightly oily sensation on the palate.

Can from the LCBO brewed in Toronto, with maple syrup and vanilla beans, at 11.5% ABV. Pitch black colour with a creamy mocha-coloured head, good retention and some decent spotted lacing. Maple syrup nose over heavy roasted malts. The taste has the maple sap tasting the whole way with the roasted malts, and chocolate notes. A tad liquorice, coffee, vanilla. Some nice hops in the finish to not linger as syrup on the tongue. Not too rich, so very well-brewed for the style. A nice winter warmer dessert.

Pours opaque coffee with a good buff head. Aroma yields roast malt, maple syrup, coffee, semi-sweet chocolate, and a hint of molasses. Rich flavor presents roast malt, quality coffee, maple syrup, chocolate and a bit of molasses - and is that a hint of caramel? Texture provides thick, viscous body and lively fizz. A commanding brew.

A big bruiser of a stout, though with a definite aroma and especially flavor of maple syrup. Big roast and bitter chocolate, follwed by not too subtle but not over the top hits of maple. Good brew.
