Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout Photon Sphere is a pitch black beer on the edge of The Event Horizon. The gravity here is so strong flavors of cinnamon, vanilla, cocoa and habanero orbit each other around the edge of a chocolate bourbon abyss, shimmering with a twinkle of honey. Prepare to have your tongue spaghettified.

Pours dark chocolate with a fair buff head. Aroma delivers roast malt, chocolate and bourbon tones with a hint of pepper. Flavor features roast malt, pepper, chocolate, bourbon and woody notes. Texture gives decent body and lively fizz. Ride the photon sphere.

This is a super dark beer. What little foam it has is very dark brown. Alcohol is apparent, but the spiciness is incredible. Honey and vanilla hit me first. Then cocoa and cinnamon. Drinking the beer is where it really kicks butt. The complexities of the bourbon, spices, and honey are still there, but the heat from the habanero steals the show half way through each sip. Not enough to burn the tongue to my discomfort, but just right to take control and own your senses. Probably the first pepper beer I really enjoyed, and even without, I think it would make a fine brew. From an in-state brewery I've never tried before, I can I'll be coming back for more!
