Pint can pours with a with a body that has a deep dark void of darkness that supports no head at all. A swirl of the beer leaves a lasting brown stain to the inside of the glass. The aroma initially pummels with sweet smelling chocolate fudge, chocolate cake and then the blunted bourbon barrel treatment rimmed thinly with a dark berry sensation and murmurs of winter spices. The taste delivers loads of slick malt sweetened dark chocolate flowing into increasing booziness as mild winter spices and a hint of vanilla are noticed. To midway supple bourbon barrel and a sort of a raspberry character comes forward as the booziness hits its peak and stays there into the finish. As the flavors fade there's a pleasing chili pepper warmth creating a fuzzy level of comfort. Great bold deep rich sipper.
