Try this medium-bodied red ale, a malty brew with hints of caramel and toasted bread. It’s smooth and balanced, with a subtle earthy and spicy flavor and aroma from the hops and peated smoked malt. It’s the perfect beer to transition from the heavy dark beers of winter to the lighter more quaffable beers of summer.

Bottle from Belmont Party Supply, Dayton, OH. Requisite reddish pour with a creamy head and a bit of lacing. Malt forward aromas and flavor, hint of nuts, fruits and very slight sour, light breadiness. A bit aged but still fairly tasty.

Sweet doughy malt followed by a touch of smoked meat, caramel and pastries. Burnt amber color with a frothy tan head and ample lacing. Medium to light bodied, mot much backing although it's balanced. The minor smoked malt component really adds to this amber, it was enjoyable.

Pours a brilliant reddish amber with a small foamy khaki head that dissipates slowly, leaving sheets of lacing. The aroma is caramel malt, and grain. There's a bit of subtle floral hop character. The taste echoes the aroma, lightly roasted and deeply toasted sweet specialty malt forms the backbone, with a bitter, dry finish. The mouthfeel is medium bodied and medium carbonation.
