This is more than a limited edition offering. It’s an enigma in liquid form. At first it looks like a deep mahogany ale, then you take your first sip and notice its distinct hoppy character. We begin with a ridiculous amount of Cascade and Chinook hop varietals from Western Colorado and bring out their flavor with the hop back. Then we double dry hop for even more of that aroma you love. The result is an unforgettable beer from the forgotten time zone.

Beer 12 of my 12 Beers of Christmas: this one from PfoxyJohn, Oct. '10, OctoberPfist. I was a bit worried about this beer losing some character after aging this long; NO! Cloudy tea brown pour, substantial cream head and copious amounts of heavy lacing. Beautiful marriage of hops and caramel sweetness in the nose: earthy citrus and piney hops, sweet maltiness. Taste is also a great blend of heavy hops and tasty mellow sweetened malts, big hops present, with some pine, citrus, sweet fruits, caramel, just freaking incredibly tasty! This is a very well-crafted brew. It was difficult to wait to enjoy it - glad I did - worth the wait. Thank you John for another outstanding beer, it was very enjoyable.

750ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with a huge creamy off white head that retains well and laces the glass.

The aroma is nutty caramel malts and fruity hops with a little pine and resin and some medicinal alcohol.

The flavor is sweet sugary nutty malts, caramel and toffee with a touch of smoke. It has a medium bitter finish. The mouthfeel is pretty full bodied with velvety carbonation.

Overall, a nice surprise from Odell. It's a surprisingly good hoppy amber essentially.
