A pretty nice beer, but it kinda lacks focus, not fitting any style and coming off good, but muddled. The oaked treatments of this were quite nice, this base beer was above average with light citrus notes, ample bitterness and malty sweetness to balance. Hides the abv well.

Tasted on tap at the 2006 Pizza Port Strong Ale Fest. This strong ale pours a medium gold color. Small sized white foamy head. Aroma is orange and malt, fruity and sweet. A medium bodied American Strong Ale. Malts are fruity and sweet. There are lots of orange and citrus flavors. Some caramel malts as well. Hops are citrus and grapefruit. Nice balance. Good carbonation. Touch of alcohol bite, but only a little bit in the aftertaste. Nice beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.
