Bottled from Brewery stock. Poured a deep amber-copper ale in the glass with a tan colored close poured cap that lasted well...decent lacing. Aroma is sweet and smokey but very subtle. Up front a rush of Caramel Maris Malts, bready-sweetish but not overly so as to be cloying....bit of smoke and light Fuggles hopping. Creamy mouth feel...finishes malty-sweet with enough bittering to balance in the finish. Very smooth, drinkable and warming ale...you’ll never taste the alcohol content. Nice attempt at a wee heavy but a tad too thin.
