Our Border Pilsner is named in honour of the Niagara River that forms part of the border between the United States of America and Canada - the longest undefended border in the world. The symbol of friendship perfectly represents this popular beer style that is always a favourite when friends get together. Pilsner was invented when a brewery in Pilsen, Czechoslovakia perfected a pale, bottom fermented lager in 1842. It had a notable hop accent and became known as Pilsner beer. Niagara's Best Pilsner has a deep golden hue, complemented by a rocky white head. It has a malty, sweet taste balanced by added hops. We brew it with pure German Pilsner malt and add Czech Saaz hops to produce a robust beer that quenches the thirst and finishes dry.

    Aroma: 5 | Appearance: 6 | Mouthfeel: 5 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6

Taps a pale hazed lager with a 1 finger white cao that does not last (what is it with this brewer and lame caps?). Mild aroma for a Pilsner. Light biscuit malts some faint floral spiciness. Soft mouth feel, lightly mineral with dry cereal malting and proper balance in grassy bittering, Finish is clean and lightly dry. Average but fresh and clean.
