Cooper's Treasure was inspired by the original barrel makers, the coopers. These skilled tradesmen helped spur the renaissance of beer as virtually every beer in the 1800s was barrel aged. This series honors the craftsmanship, hard work and care behind every barrel made the hard way, the right way, by hand. Russian Imperial Stout aged 8 months in first use Sazerac Rye barrels. Doomsday Hound is a beast with a roasted coffee and cocoa character. Barrel aging adds depth with a warming rye spiciness and nuances of vanilla and coconut.

    Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 10 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 10 | Overall: 9

Pours rich coffee sable with a milkshake-like dark parchment head. Aroma presents rye, roast malt, woody, coffee, chocolate and subtle nutty tones. Flavor fills the mouth with rye, roast and slightly charred malt, chocolate, coffee and nutty notes plus an earthy hint. Texture yields full, firm body and lively fizz. A real treasure!
