Number 2 of my 3 Black Holes, before was White Wine, this time Tequila. It is clear that the base beer is the same as before, similair mollasses and brown sugar. Oak is apparent, but less so. This time it is more fruity, in a roasted almost burnt pineapple kind of way. Sometimes I think I am picking up a bit of salt, but it is fleeting. Fairly large body without making it strictly a sipper, I got it down pretty easy. Mouthfeel is almost lactic in texture. Flavour profile shows some slight leather, touch of spice, touch of fruit, slight bit of a licorice. More sweet than the white wine one was, also slightly fuller body, and unfortunately a bit of a syrup texture, which made it worth one less point than the white wine. Still has a biscuit like malt that lends a dryness. Very complex, but impeccably balanced. Mikkeller cannot seem to dissapoint me. As I mentioned in the White Wine, my bottles are a little over a year old and that may also contribute to my higher numbers.

Pours a luscious opaque sable with a fairly thick and fine-bubbled tan head. Aroma has notes of roast coffee, smoke and molasses with a firm hint of tequila - no surprise there! - and a bit of fresh-cut grass Mouth-filling and very tasty flavor has the usual smoky, coffee, chocolate, molasses and licorice tones with a subtle overtone of grass and a sweet tequila note. Texture is smooth as almond milk and has above average body plus a subtle tingle. Finish is on the sweet side and has a grassy overtone as well as smoky, molasses and mocha tones. I love the Black Hole Barrel Aged series, and hope there are plenty more to come!

a strange beast. nose is nice, all the ingredients in black hole and an additional sweet twang to it. still smooth as ever. starts out ok, but gets a little harder to drink by the end. maybe just too much going on. not bad, though.

Draught@CPH BF 2011. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is quite much Black Hole with some mild notes of stronger spirits. Flavour is alcohol, some mild liquorice and fruits along with the "standard" Black hole notes. A bit too boozy for my tastes.
