My third tasting of the series. Had white wine and tequila before. This was not as good. Fairly standard impy stout characteristics. Lots of brown sugar, some slightly sweet woody flavours, just a touch of wet cigar. Brown in colour, not much lacing, seems to me the yeast is slightly more detecable on this one, in a slightly spicy, casky almost sort of way. Fairly wet tasting, touch of maple, touch of light bodied birch. Ive been trying to ignore it, but there is something I can only descibe as salty and meaty........ lets do a couple more dots.... like hot dog. at least more like hot dog than bacon. But really its more like barbeque coals. O yes, what a waste of many words. Barbeque coals. Last thought before finishing in herby. Still a really awesome beer.

Pours a luscious sable with a fairly thick and fluffy tan head. Aroma is absolutely heavenly - chocolate, smoked wood, licorice, malt and hints of coffee and cognac. Flavor - oh, such flavor! Smoky malt, chocolate, quality coffee, subtle notes of licorice, toffee and cognac, no surprise for the latter. Alcohol bite is firm but not overwhelming. Texture is full-bodied and then a little, fizzy and lively, leaving a tingly and smoky finish. Grab this one whilst it’s available!

first heavy hitter of the night, and it was a good one. a little on the sweet side but soooo smooth, and the cognac flavors and aroma blend so nicely with the already sweet coffee, vanilla, and honey from the stout. a treat.

Draught@CPH BF 2011. Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is alcohol, wood, mimld toast and some slight liquorice. Flavour is quite similar. Very mellow and balanced. Of these three new ones this is my favourite.
