Had this after work during happy hour. This version was served on nitrogen, which I'm not sure is normal for this beer. It was as black as possible as far as I could make out in the dimly lit bar. Nice, thick tan head, helped out by the nitro. This is quite a sweet beer with not really any dryness in the finish. However, it seemed to work pretty well and did not get old by the end of the pint. Hints of licorice and chocolate. Easy to drink but beware of the punch it packs!

Visited my local MacMenamins yesterday evening and saw this on tap for the first time. Lovelly looking stout very dark brown in colour ,almost black with a magnificent tan creamy head. Very roasty aroma to this one, almost burnt oat. Very very nice taste to this one, dark, bitter chocolate followed by burnt notes, woody, winey with actually some hops in the end. Very smooth and creamy on the palate. excellent. Very very good beer..the best McMenamins by far. Also quite strong.
