AJC's Beer Pick February 2003 Max Scotch "John Roberts' interpretation of this classic style has a distinctively sweet malt character....the result is a deep brown caramelized brew with a very sophisticated taste. Scotch drinkers will appreciate the full-bodied mouth feel and the smokiness in the finish..." – Atlanta Journal-Constitution, 02/20/03

Eh... it was OK... a little flat. Mahagony with a slight head and very low carbonation. Short of the bitterness of hops but way out in front on sweet malts. Not hateful; just not great.

Dark leathery brown big creamy head. Mouthfeel is impressively creamy. Good a sweet malty. Might have benefitted from a little peatiness but a great dessert beer. Just enough citric hop bite in aroma and flavor.

Reddish brown appearance. Nice malty aroma. Flavor is malty with some cherries, grapes, and spices. Somewhat of a nutty backbone. Pretty good just not great.
