Wholly crap I think the family of skunks that lived in Beercronics bottle moved in to mine after he finished his. Massive skunk explosion when bottle was first opened I feel my condo will stink like this for a very long time. Beer pours a yellowy brown with mild haze a half inch cap was built up during the pour but quickly vanish into something that looked like a small piece of plastic floating on my beer. This beer looks like crap!!!! The stink of this beer is amazing tons of skunk, sour corn, and a wide variety of chemicals. What the hell this beer looks completely flat but is so overly carbonated it burns to drink and that in combination with its soft thin feel makes for a nasty drinking experience and I’m not even at the flavor yet. Vey sweet, fackly sweet in fact, it has a corn flavor but it’s a fake corn flavor. Malts taste dusty and there is a very out of place citrus flavor in the finish. This is just plain horrid its getting the dump into the sink. Bye bye crap!!!!!

My bottle has a big 'DR' on it and the months for expiration are in roman numerals. Cracked the bottle in half like an egg and dumped it into my glass. The smell is bad right off the top as I can smell it from a foot away...a tendril of stink slithered into my nostril. Unfiltered stuff, large white rocky head that sticks around just above a skim that leaves minor chunky lacing. Odd coloured gold. Skunks live in my bottle. Now that they have left, I'm left with oversweet stuff and I guess what is supposed to be malts. At least the sweat aroma disappeared. Taste isn't tasty. Sweet (kinda like a paperbag beer), cardboard, ick alcohol and unimpressive hops. Posibally chemicals too. Maybe lemon...that's a big maybe. Mouthfeel is pretty rough with excessive carbonation and sour bitter finish. Comes across too thick to enjoy. Crap. Thanks Brad for the tick mark for Romania.

Yippee. I can add Romania to the list of countries from which I've had beers from. Color me thrilled...

But really, I picked this up at Boston Wine Cellar (Dayton OH) for the hell of it, and really didn;t expect much from it at all. I've had more than my fair share of ex-Warsaw Pact beers, and I'd say that about 70% of them really suck, and 5% kick ass. The rest? Just kinda exist for the sake of existing -- not making any waves, not insulting anybody, just cruising through life, so to speak. Where does this German/Czech nee Romanian Pils fall, in the grand scheme of things? Well, here's a hint -- it's doesn't suck, and doesn't kick ass.

But really, it doesn't do much of anything. Some weird "clorinated pool water" notes in the front-end, and some jarring sweet/cloying notes in the backend. But what the middle does, it's hard to say. It may not do anything, as far as I can tell...! ;)

But seriously, this is really quite boring. Maybe if I were dying of thirst, after wandering around the historic sections of Bucharest, would this beer of interest. But as I sip on this in my Days Inn hotel room, in Dayton OH, it really does nothing for me. Kinda glad I didn't finish off the evening with this clunker, to be honest....
