    Aroma: 8 | Appearance: 7 | Mouthfeel: 6 | Flavor: 7 | Overall: 6

Opaque dark brown body with a lasting medium brown head and a few spots of lace here and there. Licorice, burnt toast and nutmeg are first noticed in the aroma. As I delve deeper I pick up some oddities such as cinnamon and vinegar. Definitely out of the ordinary, but the aromas work together. Light bodied for an impy, drinks down as easy as you want it to. Rubbery aftertaste provides a very noticed and detracting flaw. Flavor mirrors the aroma, but some mild chocolate and roasted malt flavors come forward. Plenty of black licorice and some star anise to add to the spices. Really an odd brew, I’ll be thinking about this one for a while. Would revisit again, but preferably on tap or at a local festival.
