A strong, amber colored ale, brewed with the finest of UK malts and hops, including British Crystal, Pale Chocolate, Roasted Barley and German Smoked (Rauch) Malt. Hopped with English Challenger and East Kent Goldings for slightly sweet, smoky and earthy finish.

nice looking dark ruby-brown brew with fluffy tan head. i poured it a little cold, so i had to let it breathe and warm for a few. surprisingly complex aroma of malt, chocolate, hops, smoke, and citrus. the only thing slightly off in the aroma or flavor is the citrus...everything else blends together nicely, but has to fight the too prevelant citrus in the mouth. nice, dry, slightly smoky finish. decent body. doesn't hold a candle to the big boys, but maybe better than i thought it'd be.
