In 1906, the Kolsch-style beer originated from the Cologne region of Germany as a crisp and light beer to combat the summer heat. Leinenkugel's® Canoe Paddler™ is our take on the Kolsch-style beer that we tweaked with a touch of rye. Our spring and summer seasonal has subtle malt flavors, a clean finish and adventurous quality.

Very yellow in color, good carbonation i thought. Had lots of aromas of rye and some grains flavor. Very light and crisp.Body seemed a bit watered down.It could quench the thirst on a hot day, it won't make you dance from the flavor.

What do you get when you combine a style I don't care for and a brewer I (usually) don't particularly care for? This, I suppose. Pretty bland and boring. Overcarbonated. Grassy & gassy. I'm probably being a little harsh with my score but I didn't care to finish my free 12 oz bottle...

Pours out a clear gold color with no head. The aroma is of mild malt and just a tiny whiff of skunk. The mouthfeel is thin and watery. The taste is smooth and clean with just a tiny note of sweetness.

Straw color pour with a thin white head. Zero lace on the glass. A lot of carbonation. Faint aroma of grass and old grain. Not a big fan of this style but this is still not very good.

Pours a clear pale golden with a very thick, if not too persistent, ivory head - typical of a kolsch. Aroma is strong, yeasty and malty, with just a whiff of - wet dog? Flavor is crisp and malty with a yeasty underpinning and a hint of apple. Refreshing, if a bit wan. Texture is thin, though fizz does persist a bit, leaving a crisp and clean finish. More for sipping on a hot day, or as an accompaniment to lunch, then for serious drinking.

Pours a bright and cheery light golden color, crystal clear with an abundance of tiny bubbles rise to a small white head that fades quickly to a film leaving minimal lacing. The aroma is grainy, some rye, peppery, mild pale malt and a touch of hops. The taste has some sweetness from the malts up front followed by the rye pepperiness and a little touch of lemon. The mouth feel is very smooth and drinkable with a dry finish and no aftertaste, very refreshing.

Pours almost the color of water with a massive white head that takes its time. Heavily carbonated. Aroma is sweet with hints of lemon and malts. Taste is very watered and light. hints of malts and that's about it. Creamy mouthfeel. WTF is this?

Could live without this one. That said I would still take it over a normal piss yellow macro light American beer. A bit cleaner smell and taste but bad aftertaste and nothing at all like a real kolsch beer.

Very pale yellow body, the head is a thin soa[py ring, occasional spots of lace. Aromas and flavors of grass, strange grains and rye, i guess. Overall i dont really care for this stlye, and this did nothing to help that opinion.
