now we're talking. i love the pipeline porter, which is a porter brewed with Kona coffee. this is the imperial stout version, so apply all the goodness of the porter, and apply to the body and full flavor of an imperial stout. Yummy!

Tasted at the 2004 Pizza Port Strong Ale Fest. Dark black color. Small head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate and a hint of vanilla. A medium bodied imperial stout. Malts are chocolate and coffee. Roasty, toasty malts. Nice coffee flavor. Smooth taste. Nice dry finish. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and crisp. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

on draft, strong ale fest, pizza port carlsbad december 2004 my first impression was that you’re having a cup of iced coffee. If you’r looking for a "coffee" stout. This one is it.

This Impy stout pours with a black body topped by a medium thick creamy head with lots of lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet and malty with a slight bitter roasty coffee note. The flavor is slightly sweet yet bitter with a nice raosted coffee note, a little vanilla and some cream. Full bodied, smooth and creamy.

This is a very good imperial stout that has been flavored with the locally grown Kona coffee. The beer is very dark, with a decent amount of carbonation. There is a hint of coffee in the flavor, but some of the coffee bitterness is evident. The beer has a chocolatey, slightly winey taste. It is very good.
