Built in 1846 to defend Upper Canada, Murney Tower is one of four Martello towers meant to fortify the city of Kingston. Having never been used in conflict, the tower was abandoned by the military and looted by thieves who managed to steal a 1000lb cannon. In 1925, Murney Tower was re-opened as Canada’s first and oldest museum. Our Murney Tower Ale showcases the bread, toast, biscuit and caramel flavours from the 5 different malts used to create this Belgian-style Pale Ale. The malt flavours combine with the spice and fruit flavours from the yeast to formulate a subtle complexity that will challenge your taste buds while quenching your thirst.
