Jopen Trinitas Tripel is named after the Holy Trinity, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Jopen has its own trinity; the three brewing grains that have been used in Haarlem since the Middle Ages: barley, oats and wheat. Full and powerful taste with spicy notes and a hop bitter aftertaste.

(October 2013). 330 ml bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgaard. BB date 09.08.13. ABV is 9%. Hazy deep golden to pale brown colour, moderate white head. Sweetish and spicy aroma, typical of belgian ale yeast - but also some "unfresh" hints, which may or may not be caused by aging. Quite refreshing flavour for a 9% beer, not as sweet as many other tripels, spicy and malty notes, hints of brown kandij sugar, despite the beer apparently being "Reinheitsgebot". Decent hops in the finish.

Darker yellow with decent white foam head, lasting and lacing to glass. Aroma is weak hoppy, taste is nice bitter. Long lasting bitter aftertaste, some minty on top of tongue. (Velp 201208)
