Bulldog is an award winning strong ale that was first brewed for the export market in 1947. The traditional recipe and maturing process of "warm conditioning" which takes place after fermentation, has been deliberately retained to preserve the strength and quality. The beer is dry hopped and the distinctive mellow flavour of Bulldog Strong Ale allowed to develop slowly.

I tasted this beer a couple of times. It is strong but very tasteful, then a little bit bitter. It is very refreshing and perfect for a night in pub with friends!

Copper colour, mediumsized white head. Aroma is strong malts, some hops and barley. Flavour is malty, caramel, candy sugar and some slight roasted notes. The finish and aftertaste are dominated by a dry hoppyness. Good strong ale!

Bottle. Clear amber colour with a thick, off-white head. Sweet and malty aroma with a touch of alcohol. Taste is somewhat lacking in subtlety; sweet and malty, then bitter, with some fairly harsh warming alcohol in the finish. Unrefined but drinkable.
