Red ale aged in oak barrels with wild yeast and souring bacteria. Unfiltered, unpasteurized, and bottle-conditioned. This beer is a tribute to our good friend Russ Beadie. Thanks, Russ. Thuss.

750 ml bottle, shared by Ole Anders.Cloudy reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head. Lovely sourish aroma, brettanomyces / farmhouse, oak and red wine / red wine vinegar. Sour and lemony flavour, also oak and red wine vinegar.

Ru-55 pours a deep brown body, until its held up to the light, them the edges turn a deep amber. The head is light tan and thin, but ti leaves some spotty lace. Nice aromas of cherries, wood, plum, and as it warms some yeast shows, pretty nice. The first taste is pure sourness, wow, as i get used to this the wood comes out first and finally some fruit comes out, unfortunetley not as much fruit as the aromas leads you to belive. I am not a huge sour fan, but this is a pretty nice beer.
