This beer was premiere! I had this beer at the Belgian Beer Festival in Boston and this may have been my surprise favorite beer of the event. I had a TON of top flight beers that evening and this might have been one of the best - an evening that included Rochefort 10. The beer combined tow of my favorite styles - IPAs and Belgian Abbeys - to make for a sensational brew. Lots of hops with a complexity familiar to fans of the abbey style. I HIGHLY recommend this beer if you can find it - unfortunately, it can only be found in NY at the brewery. That said, don't pass up the chance to try it if you can.

This abbey triple pours a slightly cloudy orange gold color from a 750ml bottle. Medium sized white foamy head. Aroma is fruity and sweet, some honey and some hops. A medium bodied triple. The malts are fruity and sweet. The hops are citrusy and a touch grapefruity. Nice balance, Think they did a nice job trying to meld to diverging beer styles here, its more of a IPA than a Abbey Triple, but there is a nice yeastiness and sweetness to this beer. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

Man. This was such an awesome beer. I only wish you could get it outside of New York. This is everything you'd expect from a great IPA with a stronger malt presence making slightly more palletable. If you get a chance to try this stuff, you'd be a fool not to.

This is apparently a love it or hate it beer, and I’m more in the prior than the latter. Great American hops, although I’ll admit the yeasty funkiness of a belgian isn’t really shining through, although it is maltier than would be expected from an IPA.
