Off the west coast of Scotland lies an island renowned for rich, distinctive, smoky malt whiskies, which are very popular in Sweden. Last year a Swedish friend of ours suggested that he would really like to taste a version of Innis & Gunn that had been matured in the same barrels used to mature these great whiskies. We were intrigued by his idea, and obtained some of these rare barrels, which we filled with Innis & Gunn beer for maturation. The result was delicious, and in gratitude for the idea we decided to produce a limited quantity especially for our customers in Sweden. We believe that this beer shows a perfect partnership between Innis & Gunn beer and a very special kind of oak maturation. These barrels are very rare and so this bottle is one of only 36,000 to be produced. Sold at Swedish Systembolaget starting September 1, 2007. 330 ml bottles at 7.2% ABV. Best before December 2008.

Pours out in a clear dark reddish brown colour with a sticky tan-colored foam. Smokey and woody nose with notes of tar and roast malts. Medium-bodied with notes of roast, tar and smoke. Smokey and tarry finish wih note of oak and dark bread.

Bottled. Golden colour, small white head. Aroma is mild vanilla, peat and oak barrells. Flavour is fruits, vanilla, juniper and some mild alcohol. Also mild oak barrel as it warms up a bit.
