Arctic Circle ALe is a specialty that has been inspired by Finland's northern nature and ancient brewing traditions. Freshly cut juniper twigs and dark rye malts have been combined with Finnish barley malts and British hops to produce this malty dark-brown ale with woody, juniper notes and a long, complex aftertaste.

Pours a hazy copper colour with amber highlights. The head is frothy, bubbly, warm-beige, lasts long and gives out creamy-bubbly lacing. Big aromas of dates, caramel, raisins, nuts, hits of smoke and wood. The burnt malt shows up in the taste all the way. Spices and some nice bitterness, creating a good dryness in the finish. Seems like Juniper lingering with coffee notes. Quite a pleasant brew to try.

Pours a dark brown/ruby. One finger of dense head lasts throughout and laces well. Aroma and flavour are similar, although the flavour is fuller. Quite a different flavour that grows on you towards the end. Caramel malt, spice, smoke and fruity with a nice earthy finish. Medium mouthfeel and drinkable. I like.

My first Finnish beer. The beer pours a hazed copper colour with a very thin white head. The aroma is Juniper, caramel, raisins, and yeast. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is sweet, smoky with caramel and molasses sweetness, and a smoked wood aftertaste. This is definitely a winter warmer and the alcohol is slightly noticeable in the aftertaste -

Comes out of the bottle a clear sepia with a fairly thick and fine-bubbled tan head. Syrupy aroma has a sweet, spicy overtone with touches of fruit and - yes, juniper. Flavor has woody, clove, nutty and earthy notes, rather enjoyable. Texture has average fizz and body, not too shabby. Even if this is a winter beer, enjoyable whatever the season.

Sampled on 5/28/2011. This spiced beer pours a slightly cloudy amber red color from a 50cl bottle. Small to medium sized white/beige foamy head with decent retention and nice lacing. The aroma is juniper, caramel, toffee, fruity and sweet. Medium bodied spiced beer. The malts are caramel, toffee and semi sweet. The hops are herbal and earthy. Nicely balanced. Decent carbonation. Nice winter beer, the juniper flavors are evident, but its more in the background. There is also a touch of woodiness as well. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly bitter.

It pours a dark copper and burnt-orange with a very thin light-tan head and some surrounding lacing. A rich aroma of caramel malts, sweet breads, hops, coffee, licorace, orange and citrus, raisins and dates, light molasses, and spiciness. The mouthfeel is smooth, silky, and rich. Flavors of caramel malts, coffee, hops, sweet and dark breads, licorace, orange and citrus, raisins and dates, light molasses, and spices. Man this is great!!
