Big thanks to Craig (cbkschubert) for sharing this at the BA Speedway release. Pours dark mahogany with mocha head. The aroma is full of hazelnuts, brown sugar, boozy bourbon like notes and dark roasted coffee. The taste is sweet with molasses and chocolate brownie and then moving toward dark roasted coffee and sweet bourbon. I get some brighter notes of robust booziness that seem to be enhanced by an upwelling of carbonation with spicy oak notes around the edges.

22oz bottle shared by Doug, thanks
Appearance: Pours black with a medium sized brown head and some lacing
Aroma: Roasted malts, dry cocoa , coffee, woody and bourbon
Taste: Silky mouthfeel or roasted malts, milk chocolate, coffee and some hot alcohols
Very good Imperial Stout, from the pour to the last drop.

Holy Ninkasi, kinger, this one was the coup d'etat. This beer, of all of the new beers I tried this past weekend, was my absolute favorite. Big mahogany black pour, creamy tan head, big lacing. HUGE Crown Royal aroma perfectly blended with a massive Impy Stout - how perfect is that? Roasted malts, chocolates, some vanilla, a true olfactory delight. Taste is also fantastic: great blend of whiskey and stout - roasted malts, vanilla and cocoa, very slight molasses, more Crown Royal. An absolutely terrific beer. Thank you again Cory for this masterpiece.

Unlike the normal BA BORIS, this Royale really seems to showcase the Whiskey in a very nice, clear way. Chock full of vanilla, mild whiskey, chocolate and more chocolate it opens up really nice throughout the enjoyment of the bottle. Hearty aroma and a slinky smooth mouth feel. Medium to heavy bodied, sweet and satisfying. Strong barrel influence and a soft push in the aftertaste. Normally a bottle of this standard needs to be shared as a glassful is typically enough, but the Royale is best enjoyed solely over a slow sipping evening. Very nice indeed.
