Great. Anybody remember "Rhino Chaser"? It too donated a substantial amount of it's profits to charity. Don't hear too much about them nowadays, now do you?

Along with the rather overally-quaint packaging -- clear bottle, with a fancy double-sided label (so that a turtle can be seen through the "front" of the beer bottle, just like those fancy-schmancy vodkas coming out these days) -- I fully expected to hate this beer.

Rather, it wasn't horrible. Very much a Light Lager, true, but a decently made one, I suppose. Bland and watery, but a decent afterwork thirst-quencher.

I think the fact that this beer angles itself towards the tourists wanting to "do something nobel" by buying beer and somehow help wild turtles may mean that this may find something of a niche market here in Waikiki. But even if you don't care about that, it's still not that bad of a beer, really. Just watch out that this doesn't get light-struck, and don't expect too much from it, and you won't be too disappointed with this....
