This year at Brewgrass on Saturday, 9/20, we'll tap a keg of Imperial Black Mocha Stout. This hearty stout is rich with coffee and chocolate notes--blending the velvety sweetness of specialty grains with the creaminess of a strong stout. The day after Brewgrass on Sunday, 9/21, we'll sell Imperial BMS in 22 oz. bottles directly from the brewery from noon to 3 p.m. The cost will be $8 per bottle, and there will be no limit on the number of bottles that may be purchased. Click on the contact/tours tab on the left for directions to the brewery.

    Aroma: 9 | Appearance: 9 | Mouthfeel: 10 | Flavor: 9 | Overall: 9

Strong, smoky, oily aroma has components of good roast coffee, unsweetened chocolate and molasses and is slightly sweet. It pours a deep, opaque, dark-chocolate brown with a fairly thick and fine-bubbled though not persistent tan head. Mouth-filling flavor is like a good unsweet mocha with an undertone of molasses and a hint of sweetness as well as a touch of hoppy bitterness. Texture is thick, rich, smooth and fizzy. This is one lip-smacking stout, a must for any stout lover!
